Programme of work
The thematic focus of UN Forum on Forests sessions are determined by its Programme of Work as adopted by the Forum.
2025-2028
The 2025–2028 quadrennial programme of work of the Forum was adopted in the outcome resolution of UNFF19 and is contained in the annex to ECOSOC resolution 2024/15. It sets out the thematic priorities, intersessional activities, and preparatory processes for the Forum’s work through 2028.

2021 – 2024
The quadrennial programme of work for 2021-24 was adopted by UNFF15 in May 2020 and is contained in ECOSOC resolution 2020/14.

Intersessional activities to support the development of the new 4POW included a questionnaire which was circulated in August 2019 and an Expert Group meeting to be held in November 2019.
2017 – 2020
The quadrennial programme of work of the United Nations Forum on Forests for the period 2017–2020 was adopted by a special session of the UN Forum on Forests in January 2017, and subsequently adopted by the UN Economic and Social Council in April 2017 through E/RES/2017/4 [ | | | | | ]
2007 – 2015
The UNFF Multi-Year Programme of Work 2007-2015, was adopted at the seventh session of UNFF and reflected the change in format to biennial sessions.
