Our Services

Â鶹´«Ã½ Non-Governmental Liaison Service (NGLS) facilitates engagement between civil society organizations and the United Nations. Our services help civil society organizations (CSOs), including non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic institutions, and the private sector, to engage with the UN through:

Ad-hoc Special Accreditation

Ad-hoc Special Accreditation is an opportunity, provided by UN Member States through a resolution, for civil society organizations (CSOs) NOT in Consultative Status with ECOSOC to participate in UN high-level meetings and conferences. Based on the specific language of each resolution, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academia, and the private sector may apply to be considered for participation in a mandated event. Accreditation, if granted, is specific to the event for which it was received.

NGLS supports the UN Member States by leading the application process for Ad-hoc Special Accreditation. NGLS receives and reviews applications to the accreditation process through the .

Application Review Process

Once your organization submits an application for ad-hoc special accreditation, NGLS reviews the materials to determine whether the criteria have been met. Eligible applications are then forwarded to the Office of the President of the General Assembly (OPGA), which circulates the list of recommended organizations to UN Member States for their consideration. After this review process, NGLS will inform applicants of the outcome of their application.

Registration

Once accredited, organizations may register for specific UN meetings and events through . Each representative of an accredited organization must submit their own individual registration to be eligible to attend an event.

Please note:

  • Each representative must create a personal Indico account

  • Registration must be completed individually.

  • Registration deadlines, as well as the maximum number of representatives allowed per organization, are strictly enforced.
